Since September, Rachel has been blogging for Boston.com where she focuses on federal, state and local response to Western. Mass. tornado recovery.
Her investigative journalism class produced an 8-month tornado follow up package published in print in the Boston Sunday Globe and with multimedia components online at BostonGlobe.com.
Other recent work for CommonwealthMagazine.org outlines the challenges a new principal faces at one of the state’s lowest-performing high schools.
Rachel’s work for MassLive.com in the summer of 2011 involved various multimedia productions including video, photography and writing for the web.
In the Fall of 2010 and Spring of 2011 Rachel worked as the Sustainability Initiative‘s Transportation Intern, where most of her efforts were geared towards securing a rideshare program for students, faculty, and staff within the university.
In the summer of 2010 she developed case studies for the College of Natural Sciences’ upcoming iCons program; an innovative approach to global issues including renewable energy, climate change, biomedicine and clean water.
Rachel is a Dean’s List student and member of the Kappa Tau Alpha journalism honor society.
